Abstract

The article contains excerpts from the Diary of a young Russian officer Georgy Arnoldi which he kept during his travel to Italy in 1909. The author shares his impressions of Roman antiquities. The Diary has been preserved in the family archive of the authors of the article. The text is published for the first time and is accompanied by introductory notes and a commentary.
