The Author’s Personality in the Eclogues of Calpurnius Siculus
Abstract
The paper analyzes the Eclogues II and IV of Calpurnius Siculus in the light of his aesthetic concepts. The focus lies on the aspects that could be interpreted as autobiographical. Gradually the personality of Calpurnius comes into view with more clearness.
